Project Description
“Estetica Muncii” is a project of visual documentation of creativity in the daily work of the industrial worker. The project starts with a visual anthropological research based on a collection of cultural artefacts from the Communist era, which examines how the relationship between work and aesthetics has evolved over the past 50 years in Romania. Our intent is to highlight the expressions of social creativity in this territory, to give them recognition as industrial heritage elements. The collection is the testimony of a kind of work and life, specific to the socialist period, but also of the fact that social innovation and creative industries had precursors in the socialist daily artifacts.
- We have developed an archive of artifacts and stories about the creativity of the socialist daily.
- A campaign to promote artifacts was carried out.
- The exhibition, which was held at Fabrica de Pensule, from the 5th to the 25th November 2017
- A series of hyperlocalized interventions that seek to highlight the artifacts and histories of small communities.
